Knowing when to stop

I feel blessed having the opportunity to work with women on a one to one basis and support them with their health. Each woman I work with is so deeply inspirational in their dedication, focus and authenticity. Recently I have been sharing with many of them how I am starting to see a pattern. Ayurveda speaks about 2 methods of treatment known as brmhana and langhana. Those who fall in the brmhana category require bulking up and nourishment to support their health and those in the langhana category require fasting, detoxification and cleansing.

The women I mostly work with are in the brmhana category. This means that they are physically depleted and often emotionally too. But the most interesting thing is you would never know on meeting them. They are highly driven, ambitious, hard working and modest. They have the mindset that there is a solution to a problem and they want to address the problems they see.

When I see them though, I can see how they are giving to others before nourishing themselves. Even though some of these women might need to support their detoxification pathways or clear ama, toxins, ultimately they need nourishment.

Knowing when to stop can be difficult, but by recognising the early signs and symptoms of imbalances and getting help you can most definitely avoid more difficult problems in the future.
